Heys is a collection of my letters I send to myself. It's a way for me to step out of me and reflect on me, and life.
Hey Akash how are you doing today?
Akash all problems are frame problems.
How you frame, or reframe, dictates the solutions you’ll find. You must cultivate this framing muscle, always be looking to reframe, things, events, problems, etc with a different perspective. If you don’t flex it, it’ll atrophy.
Have a lovely evening my friend
Akash
Hey Akash how are you doing today?
Akash I notice that sometimes you say you’re going to do something but you already know internally you’re not intending/able to do it. i.e. you lack conviction. I think that’s setting a bad precedent for yourself. It’ll slowly erode your trust in yourself, and more importantly your respect.
Always say what you’re going to do and then actually do that. Or at least pour all your energy into doing that. You’ve to earn your respect, be the man of your word.
If you feel you’ve lost that respect than a simple way to quickly earn that is to make small promises to yourself and keep them!
What’s the one tiny promise you’ll make this evening?
Akash
Hey Akash how are you doing today?
Akash If you really want to see people for who they are, you've got to let go of all the opinions or prejudices you have about them. Opinions and prejudices warp your perception about them, it's like looking through a distorted lens. When it comes to people, you should really just have information about them, not opinions.
Thanks, and have a clear and calm evening my friend
Akash
Hey Akash how are you doing today?
Akash, a single seed of doubt or negativity and can change the entire calculus of circumstantial evidence. Be very ruthless in pruning any negative or self doubting thoughts about yourself or anything you're trying to achieve. They don't to get live in your head. Never.
Thanks, and have a beautiful day my friend
Akash
Hey Akash how are you doing today?
Akash I feel like sometimes you get so caught up in the noise of what you want to do that you aren’t able to listen to what the universe wants to do, through you. And you can only listen if you be quiet for a minute, with equanimity.
Shhh, what’s the universe trying to tell you?
Thanks, and have a lovely evening my deer friend
Akash
Hey Akash how are you doing today?
Akash, you keep saying to yourself that your inaction is due to a lack of energy but what if you’re wrong? What if it’s the other way around? What if you lack energy because you aren’t taking any action?
I think you don’t have to think too much (yes I see the irony there lol). You need to stop thinking and start doing. Anything. And I mean literally anything. Action produces information, you can use that information to propel you forwards but you gotta start.
Just do it.
Thanks, and have a lovely evening!
Akash
Hey Akash, how are you doing today?
I was just looking at these houses while walking back from gym and I notice that every house has a boundary (duh). This physical boundary is governed by the laws, but there’s also an emotional boundary. You viscerally feel it when you’re inside the house vs outside.
This made me realize, we’ve so many other emotional boundaries. We love them cause it gives us a sense of space, comfort and certainty. They’re awesome. However, they can also be very limiting, and be the source of your unhappiness. So every once in a while make a conscious effort to check what boundaries you’ve set up for yourself and are they really helping your or limiting you.
What assumptions have you made lately about what’s possible or not?
Have a lovely evening my friend
Akash
Hey Akash how are you doing?
Akash you've got to learn to distinguish between what's important and what's urgent. Remember, the urgent can wait—always prioritize what's truly important. There are so many things competing for your attention, and if you don't learn to say no, you might miss out on things that matter most to you.
Whenever you're about to commit your time or energy, pause and ask yourself: is this important?
Have a lovely evening my friend Akash
Hey Akash how are you doing today?
Akash, it's sometimes hard to see how much more damaging the consequences of anger can be compared to its causes. It often leads to pain for you and others, and the outcome is rarely positive.
I know you understand this, but it can be difficult to remember in the moment. That's okay-it's a skill to develop, and I believe in your ability to grow and build tools to manage it effectively.
In the meantime, I encourage you to imprint this thought in your mind: anger rarely leads to the outcome you truly desire.
Thanks, and have a beautiful day Akash
Hey Akash how are you doing today?
Akash, when it's dusk and you look at the sky you only see a handful of stars but you intuitively know that there are other stars in the sky too and you'll start seeing them as the night progresses. Does that mean they were shining less bright before? Off course we both know that's not the case, for you personally, they were shining as bright as on the day you were born and will continue to shine that way on the day you die. They'll objectively and really shine constantly throughout your lifetime. It's just that when there's a light pollution you can't see them.
Similarly in your life, there are things and people in your life that objectively and really shine as bright as they can for you, remember that when things seem hazy in the moment and you seem to be losing touch with reality, hold on to your constants!
Have a lovely evening my friend Akash
Hey Akash how are you doing today?
Akash, you don't have to wait for inspiration, just by doing the mundane physical act of sitting down and starting the work you set in motion a mysterious but infallible sequence of events that would produce inspiration.
Shut up, sit down and start the work. Chop wood, carry water.
Hope you sit down and do the work my friend Akash
Hey Akash how are you doing today?
Akash to be successful you don't have to set yourself up for success, rather you've to be careful not to set yourself up for failure. You do that a lot by overpromising. No you're not going to be able to do this consistently for the 7 days, or a month or whatever. Your present you is trying to relish on the future glory but that glory has not been achieved yet. Usually this is fine when you need some motivation but a lot of the times the present you does not want to do the work, it just relishes in this potential glory. Just focus on getting today's work done and let the future you take care of himself!
Thanks, have a lovely day my friend Akash
Hey Akash how are you doing?
Akash it might seem counter intuitive but you need to be more introspective, not less. Ironically, Introspection is what allows you to be more present, to think less about you. I want you to create a routine for yourself, a daily 5 minute journal. You can talk about anything you like, what's important is the act of sitting down and writing :) Can you do that for me?
Have a lovely day my friend Akash
Hey Akash how are you doing today?
Akash January is always the hardest month for you simply because you feel guilty for not doing enough in the last year and try to compensate for it by taking on a lot of things for the next year, which kinda sets you up for failure again. Problem is, you set these lofty goals and then you have no clue on how to go from point A to point B. So you just don't do shit. What you need to learn is to break it down into tiny insignificant tasks you can do every day. You want small wins every day. Go do something tiny toward your goal!
What small thing will you do today towards your goal?
Thanks and have a lovely evening Akash
Hey akash, how are you doing today?
Akash you should have a framework for making decisions. It's not like you don't already have right now, it's just implicit. You should instead make this process explicit. A framework will guide when you're spending inordinate amount of time making decisions about for trivial things, or very little time on important things. It also helps you make better decisions over time cause you can refer back to see what worked and didn't and why. Most importantly, it'll help you take the burden of making decisions that you feel were very consequential. It's like, "Oh I messed up, hmm why did I decided this path, ah I see it's because my framework led me down this path, what can we do better", you get the idea. It helps you detach a bit from feeling guilty or prideful for you decisions, it makes you objective
Have a lovely evening my friend Akash
Hey akash how are you doing today?
Akash I like that you try to conjecture ideas about your behaviors; I think you should take a scientific approach to them. i.e. Your conjectures should be falsifiable and reproducible. Falsifiable because if you can't test and disprove your conjectures than you can't make progress on them. Reproducible because they help build confidence.
I like this approach cause it also helps you be objective and a bit detached from them.
Thanks and have a lovely evening my freind Akash
p.s. Don't be afraid to ask your friends and family for help, sometimes they know more about you than you yourself!
Hey Akash, how are you doing today?
I've been thinking about this today, you always assume that your emotions drive your behaviors but what if it's the other way around? What if you want to drive a certain behavior and so you induce the emotions that (you've learnt over time) will get you there?
For example, when you're yelling at someone, you assume that it's because you're angry but what if it's your goal to yell at them and so you get angry as you know it's easier to yell when you're angry. Or when you're avoiding some task because you feel uneasy, it's more probable that it is your goal to avoid the task and so you create this sense of uneasiness.
I think it probably didn't start this way but I suspect over time your brain learnt that it can induce certain emotions to get you to do certain things. What'd you think?
Have a beautiful day my friend Akash
Hey Akash how are you doing today ?
Akash your intellect is fundamnetally a tool in service of whatever direction you put it in. If you press the button of positivity, it'll try and find the positive in everything; if you press the button of victimhood, it'll show you all the ways you're a victim; If you press the button of agency, it'll show you all the opportunities.
what button are you pressing?
Thanks and have a lovely evening my friend Akash
Hey akash how are you doing today ?
Akash sometimes you forget but small details in your life bring you joy and enrich your life. Like massaging your head with oil, sitting on the veranda and siping coffee early in the morning, watching sunset at the beach, watching rain from your room listening to music, meditation, eating grilled sandwiches cooked by your mom, driving bike with one and the index finger of your other hand clutching the jewelry around your neck, and so many more!
Next time you feel a bit down, just do one of them!
Have a lovely evening my friend Akash
Hey akash how are you doing today ?
Sometimes you’d have to make hard decisions. Decisions where there is no right or wrong answer but making any could have repercussions that you might not like. That’s when your principles can help you. They can guide you in times when you feel a bit uneasy about making any decision. Let your principles make the decision for you.
Thanks and have a lovely evening my friend Akash
Yo Akash how are you doing today?
I think finally figured out why you're not making progress, It's kinda obvious in hindsight and you probably knew it already, but the reason is that a. you lack focus, and b. you lack intensity. I want you to figure out your number one priority, literally whatever it is, and then crank up the intensity on that thing. Can you promise to do that for me?
Have a productive day my friend
Akash
Hey Akash how are you doing today?
Akash I feel like sometimes you say you want something but really it's just that you want to want that thing because that's what other people want. Does it make sense? For example, you see that other people are earning lots of money and you feel like you should also earn lots of money too. But you never really wanted to earn lots of money. Normally all of this is just fine but I feel like you kinda punish yourself for not achieving said goals but the reason you didn't achieve isn't because you're lazy, stupid, incompetent or whatever, Nah it's that those goals were never really your goals to begin with. So I want you sit down for a minute and just think about what you want out of life you know?
Have a lovely evening my friend
Akash
Hey Akash how are you doing today?
You know you’ll never be ready right? Like I know that you know that you’ll never be ready yet it seems like you still don’t viscerally feel it. If you look back at your life and try to connect the dots you’ll see that you were never ready when shit hit the fan, and yet you survived somehow (and are doing pretty good actually). So why don't you take a leap of faith next time you’re afraid of something cause you’re not ready?
Cause it’s all that is, Akash—a leap of faith.
Have a lovely afternoon my friend
Akash
Hey Akash, how are you doing?
I see that you desperately keep trying to get rid of your bad coping mechanisms but seem to fail miserably. You know, you don't have to be so harsh on yourself over it. Put the gun down. Being harsh perpetuates the cycle that you seem to want to get out of. You gotta realize that these coping mechanisms, however bad it may seem, served a very real purpose for you. You can't just wake up one day instantly get rid of it cause you no longer like/need it. You gotta be gentler, sit with them, and slowly cultivate better coping mechanisms. But they can never come from the place of hate, they should come from the place of love.
Have a lovely evening my friend, Akash
Hey Akash, how are you doing today?
Akash you gotta meet yourself where you're at. Sure you wanna do these grand things but you gotta start small, take baby steps, and celebrate your wins no matter how small. This generates momentum, and helps you build trust in yourself (that-casual-confidence-in-oneself-kind). This is the way.
Have a lovely evening my friend Akash
Hey Akash how are you doing today?
I see you fall into this trap of controlling things, aspects of your life, but we both know they never work and never have. Tragedy is that you seem to blame yourself for not making it work. Dude you can't fight the wave, you can only surf it. Go learn to surf!
Have a lovely evening my friend Akash
Hey Akash how are you doing today?
Akash you know the reason you’d been feeling down lately? You were severely lacking in vitamin D! As soon as we fixed that up, you were back to normal. What does that teach us? That you’ve got to be in-touch with your body. It’s always signalling you if there’s something going on that you should be aware of, but you’ve got to listen for it otherwise you might miss it. For example, notice how you feel pain in certain parts of your body when you’re pushing it? your body is telling you to back-off lest you injure yourself. You get the idea, your body is sending you so many signals every. single. day.
Now, your body is always sending you signals but it’s not foolproof. It might misfire, that’s why it’s important to listen for it! Like, notice how sometimes when you’re in a party, you feel a bit anxious and your heart starts racing? Yeah your body thinks it’s in danger and is preparing you for fight-or-flight response, but we both know it’s misfiring. And you can’t know and mitigate that if you don’t listen!
Have a lovely day my friend Akash
Hey Akash how are you doing today?
Akash you keep trying to let go but alas you seem to fail miserably. You see, you can’t let go by trying, trying is doing. No you let go by allowing yourself; Allowing yourself to feel your emotions, your breadth, the world around you, the leaves of the tree you’re just looking at, to be here in the moment, and more importantly, to see the pain of holding on. Just allow yourself man, don’t try.
Have a lovely evening my friend Akash
Hey Akash, how are you doing my friend?
Akash I seem to feel like you have all the puzzle pieces in place, you just can't seem to connect them together in a single piece. And it's eating at you, everyday. It feels a bit like how in a cs game when you've defeated all the enemies but the bomb is still ticking and you can't for the life of you find out where is it planted, and every second that goes by is makes you anxious. But maybe you don't have to defuse the bomb. Maybe it's okay to loose the game. I think the real reason you feel anxious is because you're afraid to loose. So just dump it. Loose the game. And grieve the loss. Take as much time as you need to grieve. And one day you'll be ready to start a new game.
Have a lovely evening my friend, Akash
Hey Akash how are you doing today?
Akash you gotta learn to simply say No. You don’t have to show your point of view, or your reasoning. Cause when you start justifying yourself, you start to lose your conviction. It’s as if you don’t trust your judgement, more importantly it’s as if you care more about what other person is thinking about you than you yourself about you. You need to be in the Akash’s team my friend. So don’t say anything after No.
No is enough.
Have a lovely day my friend, Akash
Hey Akash how are you doing today?
As I opened the door to the balcony the cold breeze came gushing down into the room illuminating my face with a sliver of smile on this fine morning. I think that smile had been wearing thin these last few weeks and you’d been falling into your old habits of criticising yourself. It is okay, I just wanted to update you of that observation. Remember, about the only thing you can do is observe.
Have a lovely day my friend Akash
Hey Akash how are you doing today?
I think I kinda know why you seem to give up on this. Writing here exposes your ugly parts and let’s be honest, you really don’t like what you see. Looking back, I’m amazed by how far you have come. Come on, you gotta know deep down that you did good so far. You gotta cherish those brave moves by past akash, they’re your inspiration man! So stop punishing yourself for not showing up here everyday, we both know it’s hard for you. Instead just try to focus on today, can you show up today?
Thanks and have a lovely evening man Akash
Hey Akash how are you doing today?
Akash you keep trying these things to improve yourself over and over again but they never seem to give you any satisfaction do they?. And how can they, you have this this fundamental sense in you that you’re broken. Let me in you on a secret, you’re not broken my friend. You are complete. You don’t gotta change anything. Just be.
Thanks and have a lovely evening Akash
Hey Akash, how are you doing today?
Akash you know you keep saying that you want happiness and/or peace but I feel like you don’t really want what you say. And you clearly don’t want happiness cause you absolutely know how to get happiness / be happy. No what you really want is all the things that you desire. You know what I’m talking about. However what you don’t realize is that all these desires are what you hold back from being happy. If you just let go of your desires, you’re happy right here and now. More importantly, you’ll finally feel free. I want you think really hard about this.
Have a thoughtful day my friend Akash
Hey Akash how are you doing today?
Akash you ought to let go of the idea of potential and focus on what you can do today. You can’t do anything about the past and the future doesn’t exist, no what you really have is today. So just focus on what you can today. And you don’t have to grand things today. But you gotta take that one small step towards your goals, today.
Just absolutely and relentlessly focus on what you can do today, let the future take care of itself!
Have a lovely evening my friend Akash
Hey Akash how are you doing today?
Akash, I feel like your judgement of you is absolutely hurting you more than anything else in this world. Let it go main, give yourself a break. Why can’t you look yourself as the way you look at a tree ? Why can’t you have the same empathy towards yourself as you do towards literally everyone else? I want you think really hard about this.
Akash, you gotta nurture yourself with kindness, gentleness, and patience.
Have a lovely evening my friend Akash
Hey Akash how are you doing today?
Akash, you know you’ve always had this insatiable desire to learn about the world. From what star you’re looking at in the sky to how insulin helps transport glucose into the cell. I think this curiosity of yours is your greatest strength and you should protect it all costs.
Stay curious my friend Akash
Hey Akash how are you doing today?
Akash, riding a bike is so natural to you right now that you don’t even think about it but I distinctly remember how when you were a kid and learning to bicycle, you were scared shitless any time someone let go of the bike. This is how learning feels like. It feels scary, it feels like you don’t know what you’re doing, it feels like you’re going to fall down, it feels like you’re going to hurt yourself, it feels like you’re going to make a fool of yourself. You think you can’t seem to learn but I want to argue that it’s just false narrative in your head. The mere fact that you’re sitting here right now suggests to me that you can learn anything. What I do think happened is that overtime you’ve let your fears take hold you cause I distinctly remember when fear never stopped you from diving head first into literally anything. But today it seems like you avoid learning like a plague cause of fear. Don’t let that fear stop you my man. You need to look right at the fear and dive head first into learning, You’ve done it a thousands of times before, and I’m certain you can do it thousands more times.
Can you try and be more bolder for me please?
Have a powerful weekend my friend Akash
Hey Akash how are you doing today?
Akash you’re always on lookout for negative feelings, bad habits, negative behaviours in you and you fight so hard to get rid of them. But fighting them counterintuitively makes them stronger and you weaker. You can never win by fighting them. You can only ever hope to win through kindness. You’ve to allow yourself to be kind towards your negative feelings. You’ve to create space for it. And most importantly, you’ve to try to see through the lens of sheer non-judgement. Then, and only then you can hope to win. So go out there and be kind, towards you and others.
Have a lovely day my friend Akash
Hey Akash how are you doing today?
Akash there’s something magical about early mornings that you really like. And I think all the birds chirping outside would agree. I also hear couple of squirrels playing around. It seems as if we are all in-tune with the earth in a way. I think it makes sense cause we’ve only had electricity for what 2-3 centuries? But we’ve been relying on earth for our activities for like hundreds of thousands of years! Anyways the point I am trying to make is that you like waking up early, it makes you productive and I would love to see more of this in you.
Note that you can’t force it. Just appreciate the days when you do wake up early, and know that over time you’d keep doing it more cause you like it!
Have a productive day my friend Akash
Hi Akash how are you doing today?
You know if there’s one thing that has reliably worked time and again for you is exercise. I can go into details about how and why it helps but tbh it doesn’t matter; if it works, it works. Can you promise to always give it a try before trying anything else?
Thanks, have a lovely evening my friend Akash
Hey Akash how are you doing today?
There’s this visceral resistance that you feel when you sit on your desk to produce something rather than consuming. I still haven’t found a best way to overcome for you but I’m getting there. In the meantime, I think taking very deep breaths, dividing your tasks into smallest units works. Can you try that and let me know how it goes?
Have a productive day my friend Akash
Hey Akash, how are you doing today?
Sometimes you seem to forget, but it’s absolutely a wild and awesome time to be alive right now. Literally every single thing in your life right now didn’t exist just a few decades ago. Computers, Airplanes, Waste management, Hot showers, AC, Medicine, Vehicles, Internet, etc and so much damn more man! So there’s always something to be grateful for. Can you try to remember that next time you’re feeling down?
Have a lovely evening Akash Akash
Hey Akash how are you doing today?
Every year when the spring comes around, almost all trees just give off their leaves. They look so empty at that point. But come summer, they’re full of all new leaves, full of life again. When you’re fasting, your cells do exactly the same in the process called autophagy (repair or shed off). It seems like a good practice. Why can’t you do that for your creative endeavours and other life things? I think one reason is that you get too attached to things, so it becomes harder for you to let go. But if you don’t let go, it’ll weigh you down. It’s actually very liberating to let go. I think one way to get around it is to reframe it. Make it a ceremony to shed things off just like how trees and your cells do. They’re extremely unselfish in that way.
Have a beautiful day my friend Akash
Hey Akash how are you doing today?
Akash you keep fighting to open the door of opportunity but sometimes maybe the door is just locked you know. And All you can do is level up in all areas of your life so that when someone finally opens the door from the outside, you’re ready. Can you do that for me ? Can you let go of trying to find and open a door and focus on levelling up?
Thanks and have a thoughtful day Akash
Hey Akash how are you doing today?
Akash you’ve this image of ideal Akash and you keep striving towards that. But I feel like that’s a wrong way to look at it cause your image would keep on changing, and more importantly there’d always be a large disparity between your current you and the image. And that’s just going to evoke negative feelings in you. Can you maybe reframe from an ideal image to just doing more of what you like and want to have. For example, I like akash going to gym, I want to do that more often. I think that’d keep compounding. Give it a try.
Have a sunny day my friend Akash
Hey Akash how are you doing today?
It seems to me that lately you've been too focused on consuming rather than producing. It's like, if I only I'd learn about this, if I only knew this, If only..., then I can start producing. But do you see the falacy here? I'm pretty certain you see the falacy. In fact, I'd argue that you see it clear as day and yet you choose to follow along with that cause the other thing is downright terifying to you. I mean to go on your own and build it yourself? that scares you man. And you're doing everything you can to avoid that. But it doesn't have to be that way. I mean you can still be scared, but you can learn to do things despite of fear. Here are the things I'd suggest to you,
divide your problem into smaller chunks. If you don't know how to divide, take the end goal and walk backwards from there on. For example, if your goal is to run a marathon, think of what needs to happen before you can do? And keep asking yourself that rcursively until you reach the smallest goal that needs to happen
eliminate all fluff and focus on the single smallest chunk You don't need to learn anything new, just focus on the smallest chunk and build/do it.
Build momentum by keeping it consistent You need to keep pushing on your smaller chunks everyday. This will build momentum and create chain reactions that'll keep you energized and motivated
Have follow ups with me regularly You need to periodically take a step back, see what worked and what didn't. This will also help you release all the frustrations and tension you may have built up in your sprint.
Breathe through your negative emotions We've already talked about this a few times so I'm not going to dwell on that but you know what to do
This these things should help you move forward when you feel distracted. Try them out and let me know how it goes!
Thanks and have a powerful day my friend Akash
Hey Akash how are you doing?
Trees are amazing. They have huge trunks, they branch off, shed dead weight, their root system is absolutely vast, they respond to changing whether patterns, they defy gravity to deliver nutrients to the top, they respond to their environment, and so much more! And yet, if you look from an outside, they look rock-solid, static, unfazed, calm.
I think you ought to be able to emulate them a bit. You ought to stay calm, unfazed, rock-solid in the face of your tumultuous emotions. One way to do that is to understand that your emotions are not you. You and your emotions are separate. You are always (and always have been) calm, rock-solid, unfazed but you get engrossed in your emotions and that makes you unsteady. Just observe your emotions and they’ll pass through you in time.
Have a lovely day my friend Akash
Hey Akash, how are you doing today?
Sometimes when you notice negative feelings bubbling up in you, your brain tries to find a coherent narrative to fit those feelings. But feelings are ephemeral by nature, and so your brain will often miss-attribute your feelings to certain things or aspects about you. And that causes you a lot of problems. For example: "negative feelings bubbling up cause something happened", "it's because you're ugly!", "it's because you're unlovable", etc.
Next time you see negative (or even positive) feelings bubbling up, try not to think, rather just observe those feelings inside your body, breathe them in, feel them, let it flow through in and around you.
Have a productive day my friend Akash
Hey Akash how are you doing today?
Time is really weird. We always perceive it in relation to the present. But if we step back, without this relativity it has no clear meaning, it just is. And yet, this relativity gives us such a profound meaning. I think sometimes things only make sense in relation to something. Try to find those productive relations between things/people.
Have a lovely day my frined Akash
Hey Akash how are you doing?
Sometimes things feel never-ending, and you keep asking yourself when will this end. But I feel like that's you trying to project the present over to the future. Just because things might seem this way right now doesn't mean that it'll be the same tomorrow! I know it sounds impossible to believe when you're in the now projecting cause you can't see any other way. But can you take a leap of faith with me on this? Let's put it this way, could your past self have ever imagined how the present turned out? No right! So, let's just say your current self isn't much better at predicting the future. So don't get anxious about the future, be here now, and let the future take care of itself!
Have a lovely day my friend Akash
Hi Akash how are you doing?
It seems difficult, doesn't it? There's this resistance. If you look a bit closer, you'll notice that resistance is the result of negative emotions bubbling up. And you can't handle them, so you tend to quickly find a distraction to not feel them. You've got to find a way to digest those emotions man. One way is to see through it with sheer intensity. Shine a light through it, embrace the ugly. It's going to be an extremely difficult process, but it's going to be worth it!
Have a great day my friend Akash
Hey akash, how are you doing today?
Akash, you learn to let it go by realizing that you never had it to begin with! It was always just an illusion!
Do you control what the weather would be like today? What about the earth's rotation around the sun? What about what neurons to fire in your brain? Maybe instructing your motor proteins to transfer nutrients Maybe instructing your immune system to fight off that cold.
You get the idea, the universe takes care of the minute details to the very vast details then what makes you think you do have control?
More importantly, if it can take care of all those things, what makes you think it can’t take care of you too?
The answer is, it’ll take care of you if you let it go.
Think about it. Akash
Hi Akash, how are you doing?
I keep having to bring this up but you gotta find patience within yourself man. I see so much restlessness in you. It’s okay, just notice it. Take a deep breadth. Calm down. It’s going to take a while. And that’s okay cause you’re going to be here for a while :)
Thanks, have a lovely night Akash
P.S. Don’t try to force the restlessness within you to still down or it’ll have the opposite effect. It’s like a quicksand, the more you struggle, harder it’ll become.
Hi Akash, how are you doing today?
I’ve to admit, I kinda misunderstood fear. Fear isn’t something to be conquered or overcome. That’s a wrong way to look at it. Rather, fear is like a guard dog for your needs. Every time it barks, it’s trying to signal you about your unmet needs man. Your problem is that you have a hypersensitive guard dog. And you gotta to train him better. Hint: Forming habits and learning about cbt would help
Thanks, have a lovely evening Akash
Hi Akash, how are you doing today?
You know, you're afraid of other people's criticism about you but did you stop to ponder how much do you criticize yourself? And honestly that also guards your giant wall that is fear of failure. You gotta stop criticizing yourself man. You get a pass. It doesn't count.
Thanks, have a lovely day Akash
P.S. Think about what your inner monologue looks like. Are you being an asshole to you ? Or are you being compassionate ?
Hi Akash, how are you doing today?
Akash, just one more Tim Ferris’s podcast, just one more book, just one more course, just one more thing won’t make you ready. Don’t you see, you’ll never be ready! And anyways it’s their wisdom, not yours. Wisdoms have experience component wrapped onto them. You can’t just apply someone else’s wisdom to your life. It just won’t stick!
Thanks, have a lovely day Akash
P.S. You just gotta be patient with yourself man
Hi Akash, how are you doing this late evening ?
I don’t have anything specific to say to you today but I do want to continue this habit of talking to you every day, reflecting. You know, When you see a pattern emerging, it’s very critical to decide if you want to continue that way because it’s going to be habitual (automated). And I do want to continue with this :)
Have a good night Akash
Hi Akash, how are you doing this fine evening?
Akash you’ve very high standards for yourself that you guard so diligently and with utmost importance. Ideally it’s cool. But there’s a slight problem here, your standards are high and your punishments (for not meeting them) extreme. It creates a vicious cycle of constantly punishing yourself. You need to give yourself a break. Let yourself off the hook you know. It’s okay to make mistakes. Just don’t let them hold you back.
Thanks, have a lovely evening Akash
Hi Akash, how are you doing this evening?
Akash, I think there’s an objective reality and there’s a practical/present reality. And you should never ignore practical reality.
For example, do you see that star ? Now, objectively speaking that start may or may not be dead. A certain omniscient person can take a look at this objectively and answer you. But that still doesn’t discard the fact that in the present moment the star seems very real to you. That is your reality at this moment. And you cannot ignore that.
Another example, Objectively speaking, someone can make the case that you’ve everything that a person can ask for and therefore you should be happy. But that doesn’t ignore the practical/present reality that you’re not. And you shouldn’t ignore that.
Only when you accept the present/practical reality that you can move forward/be at ease.
Have a lovely evening, Akash
Hi Akash, how are you doing this evening?
Akash, your problem isn’t that you have this desires/wants. Rather it’s the judgements that you place upon yourself for desiring/wanting those things, “you shouldn’t have that desire Akash!”. It creates tension and cognitive dissonance. Once you let go this meta level bullshit of you judging you for everything, you’ll be at ease.
Have a lovely evening, Akash
Hi Akash, how are you doing this evening?
It is foolish to think that you can change yourself by taking some action. And Akash you beat yourself up for not taking action. But alas, it is that damn belief that haunts you. Every day. No, you don’t need to take any action. About the ONLY thing you have to do is just observe. See it for it is. I promise you, a very beautiful thing will follow, you’ll see a change within you. However, to you it wouldn’t matter because you’re just too busy being in the moment, observing, seeing.
Have a lovely night, Akash
Hi Akash, how are you doing today?
Do you know why you're not making any changes despite you constantly having this sinking feeling that you're unhappy? Comfort. You see, all these thinking, worrying, mediocrities, etc they are very comforting to you. And your brain is like, why do we even have to venture I'm so comfortable in this mediocrity. To your brain, it's not a problem!
However, it is a problem. Because deep down you don't want this mediocrity. You don't want these comforts. You want to excel. And so you have got to overcome this Resistance. You've got be courageous.
And You'll fall along the way. Many times. Just get back up and try again.
Thanks, have a beautiful day Akash
Hi Akash, how are you doing today?
Akash, you know what your problem is? You lack purpose. Duh. And here's the kicker, you think that you can think your way out of your lack of purpose. I.e. you can think and get to know what your deepest purpose is. Logically it makes sense. Going inward. But it's extremely hard. You know what is easy? Going outward. And here's the funny thing that happens when you go outward, the outward things/people starts acting as a mirror showing your inner you. So, you've got to be out there enjoying life, having fun. You'll find your purpose while dancing with the world. Let's go!
Thanks, have a beautiful day Akash
Hi Akash, how are you doing today?
Sorry I was late to reach out to you today. I know that sometimes you are not strong enough. And that is okay. Take a step back, reevaluate the situation, and try again. As long as you try again, everything’s good. So keep trying my friend.
Thanks, have a lovely evening Akash
P.S. Reminds me of this quote from Dark Knight Rises, “Why do we fall? So that we can get back up again.”
Hi Akash, how are you doing today?
Hopelessness. It's when your brain has lot of evidence from the past and is now very certain about the doom-ness in the future. But do you see that the very notion of hopelessness implies a certain outcome in the future. Which in turn implies a fixed and predictable future. Don't you think that that is absurd? Logically, you can falsify the concept of hopelessness. But that still doesn't ignore the fact that you feels this way. And people usually take actions based on feelings rather than rationality. So, what you really need to do is to use rationality to evoke different emotions that are helpful to you, which in turn would govern your decisions.
Have a beautiful day Akash
Hi Akash, how are you doing today?
Akash, if you look at all the people you admire, all the people you aspire to be, all the things you aspire to do, etc you'll see that they all point in this general direction of a desire to be happy, peaceful and content. What does it say about you?
Thanks, Have a beautiful day. Akash
Hi Akash, how are you doing today?
Akash, I'm sitting here sipping coffee early in the morning at this coffee shop and you what I notice? I see lot of people just driving by in their motorbike with their dogs. Some sitting on their laps, some on the the footrest, some with multiple dogs. Everyone going for a walk at the beach I presume. And it strikes that me how dogs give their humans a sense of purpose in a way. Now they've someone to look up and take care of. A reason to get up early in the morning. And in a way, dogs get a sense of purpose too. To take care of their human counterparts. It is codependent in a way. I see that and I'm like I need my dog. I mean, I need a purpose. Something to look up to. And maybe it doesn't have to be grander you know.
Thanks, have a beautiful day Akash
Hi Akash, how are you doing today?
Akash, you've a certain way of looking at world. But not everyone looks at the world the same way. And when you stop to consider all these different world views, you'll really get a better understanding of how you look at the world. You'll iron out your beliefs, values and systems. So keep a open mind and go talk to people!
Thanks, have a beautiful day, Akash
Hey Akash, how are you doing today ?
You know it’s very hard to see clearly when the things are muddy. Duh. But it’s hard to realize that when you’re in that muddy situation. It’s obvious only in hindsight. So sometimes you need to learn to trust your instincts and not what you’re seeing in front of you. Because what’s in front of you is really muddy. It’s like how a pilots trusts the readings on their computer to make the decisions rather than from the window because it’s a storm outside. You’re the pilot, and the computer is your instinct.
Have a good day man Akash
Hi Akash, how are you doing today?
Self Respect. You've got to earn your respect. You do that by doing things that deem worthy of your own respect. Write those things down and make it your #1 priority to work on them. Literally every other thing just comes later.
Have a beautiful day, Akash
P.S. You do not have to succeed in any of those respect worthy things. But you do have to try. Give your all.
Hi Akash, how are you doing today?
I don’t know what to talk to you about today but I still want to talk to you, you know. I feel like, sometimes you don’t need to talk at all. Just being there and sitting with them in silence, in peace, is enough. Sometimes that’s all you need.
Have a beautiful weekend Akash
Hi Akash, how are you doing today?
When you hang out with people you don’t vibe with, you waste a lot of energy. Yours and theirs. You need to learn to say no. It might seem like that you’re doing a disservice to them by saying no, but it’s actually the opposite. You see, when you say yes to something you didn’t mean to, you’re already not there. And by saying yes, you’re actually doing a disservice to everyone involved.
Have a beautiful day, Akash
Hi Akash, how are you doing today?
You know what I’m thinking about? Neediness. It rubs off the wrong way. Especially when it’s implied neediness rather than explicit. Because it makes people think that you have some hidden agenda. Makes you distrustful and a cheat. At the end of the day, there’s nothing outside of you that can get you peace, which ultimately I believe is what you want. Think about it.
Have a beautiful day, Akash
P.S. Think about the implicit neediness from you, towards you.
Hi Akash, how are you doing today?
The sun always brings the good in you. And night, the dark in you. Thing however is, the dark part is lot creative. So, you need to learn to play with fire without getting burnt. It's going to be very risky, but rewarding. And you've always been fighting with it which has led you nowhere. I want you try the opposite. I want you to befriend the devil in you.
Have a sunny day, Akash
Hi Akash, how are you doing today?
You know what’s on my mind lately? It’s that thoughts are just that, thoughts. They’re not you. And more importantly, when you get emotional about them, that is when you give power to them. They’ll come and go as they please. You need to learn to just observe them. Like, how a scientist observes their subject.
Have a beautiful day, Akash
Hi Akash, how are you doing today?
I know it's really hard to be optimistic and positive when things aren't going right. I think that's when it counts however. Everyone can be optimistic or positive when things are going in their favor. That's easy. But when things aren't going in your favor, when everything seems hazy, it becomes extremely hard. And you don't even have to believe it to get the benefit out of it. Merely the act of being is enough. And so I want you try. That's all we can do anyways.
Have a lovely day, Akash
Hi Akash, how are you doing today?
Yesterday was a bit rough for you, however nothing that you can't overcome. Somehow I feel like this roughness builds ruggedness and resilience. It's like how the ocean waves hitting the shore over a sustained period time kinda sculpt the rocks at the shore. I feel like your rough days kinda shake you up for the future you. And one day, almost nothing in life will faze you. So, don't think of it like that you had a bad day, rather think of it like this, "I survived that? I'm definitely getting stronger and wiser than." I hope it helps you.
Have a good day, Akash
Hey Akash, how are you doing today?
I know that you have been wanting to write but it's just been hard for you. I get it, It is not easy. And it doesn't help that Life gets in the way. But you should never be afraid to start again. Because every round is a new round. Use this platform launch as a trigger to start again man. Just do it.
